Intuitive Tattoo FAQ

Intuitive Tattooing is a deeply personal, energy-guided process. It’s less about what you think you want and more about what wants to come through you. The design is only created on the day of the session, most times I draw directly on your skin. It’s about trust, connection, and co-creation. Custom Design Tattoos, on the other hand, start with your visual idea. You bring a concept—like a plant, animal, or object—and I work with you to turn that into a tattoo. There's still collaboration and care, but it’s more design-focused, and you’ll see the draft in advance. I offer both approaches, you can check out my galleries here.

An intuitive tattoo is created through a process of deep listening—to you, your intention and energy. It’s less about a fixed design and more about trusting the process to reveal something meaningful and aligned.

No. The design is created during our session.

I will send you a short questionnaire before our session that you can fill out and reflect on. You’re welcome to bring objects, writings, or anything personal you’d like to include in our space. Rest, hydrate, and trust that you don’t need to “know” everything in advance.

It can be, but you don’t need to be spiritual to receive an intuitive tattoo. Whether you see it as a ritual, a healing process, an exciting new tattoo experience or simply a meaningful piece of art, the session will meet you where you are.

I have different ways of working, in one of them you will draw two cards intuitively from a deck that I have created. We create the design from there.

That’s completely natural. Intuitive tattooing is about trust—between you, me, and the process. If you’re open to surrendering some control, you might be surprised by how right it feels once it’s on your skin.

If you have a clear, fixed design in mind, this might not be the right offering. Intuitive tattooing works best when you come with an intention, not a visual.

That’s okay. Sometimes the intention becomes clearer during our conversation. You don't have to arrive with all the answers—just a willingness to explore.

I usually prefer to work one-on-one, to keep the space focused and quiet. But if you feel strongly about bringing someone for emotional support, just let me know in advance and we can discuss it.

Not at this time.

Yes—and also no. Some experience it that way, even though I don’t label myself as a healer. Tattooing can be a ritual of release, transformation, or remembrance—marking the skin can shift something deeper within.

Anyone on a journey. People in transition, healing, grief, awakening. People seeking clarity, release, or connection. People wanting a different type of tattooing experience and so on. All identities and backgrounds are welcome here.

General Tattoo FAQ

Yes, I offer a free consultation where we can discuss your ideas, placement, price and any other questions you might have.

18.

Usually we do a consultation before your appointment. You can book a consultation or contact me.

Yes, I always take a deposit before I start any kind of design work. Deposits are non-refundable and you will need to let me know if you can’t make an appointment. I will have a period in which you can rearrange your appointment and keep your deposit valid. Deposit costs are usually based on the size of the tattoo and the amount of time needed to complete it. Deposits go towards the final price of your tattoo so don’t worry, it is still your money, it is just a small investment upfront.

Unfortunately the answer is, yes of course it does. Needles will be pushed into the second layer of your skin to deposit the ink. The pain is worth it though and most times not as bad as you imagine. All areas of the body feel different when getting tattooed, so some hurt more than others. But you will live to tell the tale, I promise!

Yes there will be bleeding, as the skin will get damaged during the tattooing process, however I am constantly wiping excess ink away so you might not even notice it.

I usually do not recommend the use of numbing cream. If you are worried about the pain, come for a consultation and let's talk about it. But generally, I believe that the pain is important for the tattooing journey and part of the experience. However, I do understand that there are situations where numbing cream might be beneficial, so let's talk about it.

I have a lot of experience tattooing different skin tones. All skin tones can be tattooed, however the darker the skin the more restrictions in terms of colour and detail. We can discuss this during your consultation.

Yes, aftercare is incredibly important. After your session, I will give you instructions on how to take care of your tattoo. However, you can also head over to this tattoo aftercare blog and read more!

The best thing you can do is to be well-rested. You will find that your pain tolerance is a lot higher when you are feeling your best. It helps to have a good meal at least 2 hours before your appointment and to stay hydrated. If you feel weak or faint during your tattoo, then have a sugar filled drink to get your blood-sugar levels up. Please don’t party the night before. Alcohol thins the blood for up to 24 hours and can dilute our ink pigments, affecting both the appearance of your tattoo as well as the healing process. Remember that I am here to help, so don’t stress, I will look after you throughout your tattooing session.

I would love to tattoo everyone but unfortunately I cannot tattoo you if you are pregnant, breastfeeding or if you have Atopic Dermatitis in the area you want to get tattooed. I also will not tattoo anyone who comes to the studio under the influence of drugs or alcohol.

Generally, I can tattoo over scarred or damaged skin, as long as it has healed fully. However it’s always a good idea to come in and show me in person, but a photograph could be enough to advise you if tattooing is possible. Please don’t feel embarrassed about showing me your scars, I am not passing judgement at all, I just want to see if I can tattoo you. I have tattooed many scars, and written about some of the experience in my scar cover up blog.

Generally the answer is yes, however there are certain restrictions and things to consider when it comes to the design of cover. This means not all tattoo ideas work and often the new design will have to be bigger and darker than the original. The easiest way is to book a consultation with me and we can have a direct look at your tattoo and the options available.

Your tattoo will only ever expand or reduce at the same rate as your skin, it will not distort in shape.

Yes, all my inks have not been tested on animals nor do they contain any animal or animal by products.
