Flow and Texture: The Creative Journey of this Intuitive Tattoo

Sometimes a tattoo doesn’t begin with a clear idea. This one started with nothing more than: the back as a canvas, and trust.

My client only knew they wanted the piece to live across their back. Beyond that, they handed the process over to me. No sketches, no fixed design, just space to see what would unfold.

As I worked, the lines began to find their own direction. I had been holding onto the image of a flowing river, and the tattoo started to echo that movement. The shapes moved with the body, connecting to what was already there and creating something new at the same time.

For me, this is the beauty of intuitive tattooing. It asks for openness on both sides, me as the artist, and the person receiving the work. When the process is trusted, the design grows naturally.
